Imphal, May 27 2009: The Joint Action Committee (JAC) against the killing of Dr Md.Islamuddin, Professor (Economic department ) and Proctor of MU asked the KYKL what action had the outfit taken against the heads of MU A-Block and departments for their faults.

The JAC, in a statement signed by its convenor Zakir Hussein, stated that the charges leveled against Prof Islamuddin were baseless and unfounded.

It stated that the allegations were same when the NSCN-IM hurled charges against Dr Kishan after killing him while terming the act as 'terrorism'.

It also expressed concerns over the silence of the group who campaigns to make education a free zone while asking whether the campaign has been meant for only some selected people.

The statement further stated that Prof Islamuddin was used as an instrument to raise some members of the outfit.

It also challenged the KYKL to deliver punishment for the guilty officials like the VC, Registrar, and the RO.
