Army denies allegations

Imphal, May 01 2009: THE ARMY has denied media reports that five suspected army men were found killed at Khordak.

A press release issued by PIB (Defence Wing) today stated that all the men of army are safe and doing well.

"It is for the people of Manipur to see the perpetrators of this crime.

Those persons who are genuinely interested in the protection of human rights can see for themselves the brutally tortured bodies which are still lying in the morgue at RIMS".

It further stated, "The villagers of the villages concerned who had abetted the crime should be made accountable.

It is up to the people to take these errant villagers to task.

These devilish and demonic acts should be condemned outrightly by all the right minded people of the society".
