Imphal, January 24 2010: In a land related row, a man has been shot and injured with a licence gun.

The incident took place at Singjamei Waikhom Leikai in Imphal West district at about 4.30 pm today.

Moirangthem Jotin (33) of Wangkhei Konung Mamang shot Yengkhom Romi (36) of Waikhom Leikai (near Hijam Lampak) with his licence gun at the latter's home, said a police source.

Romi was hit by a bullet on the chest.

Immediately, he was rushed to RIMS.

Later Romi was shifted to Shija Hospital.

Jotin was earlier a neighbour of Romi before he shifted to Konung Mamang about 10 years back.

It is reported that there is a land dispute between the Moirangthem family and Yengkhom family.

Today's attack on Romi is suspected to be related to the land dispute.

Singjamei police have arrested Jotin, added the source.

Further, in retaliatory violence, a mob torched a car (Maruti Alto) belonging to Moirangthem family soon after the shooting incident.
