Imphal, June 19 2010: House of yet another Congress can-didate who contested the recently held Autonomous District Council elections has been attacked and demolished by unidentified persons at Jamkhulen area in Senapati district.

According to a delayed report received from the police, the incident occurred in the morning of June 10 .

The unidentified persons came and demolished the house of the Congress candidate identified as Ginhau at Kenelu located about 60 kms to the south-east of Mao Police Station.

Ginhau contested in the ADC election held on June 2 as a Congress candidate.

Properties worth Rs 7 lakhs have been reportedly lost in the demolition.

Mao Police have registered a case and started investigation into the incident.

Candidate alleges: Congress candidate Adam Thiumai, who contested the Lamlaba district council constituency seat in Tamenglong district has alleged that seven of his workers were abducted by armed cadres belonging to the KRA organisation on June 15 .

Adam Thiumai disclosed to The Sangai Express on June 18 that the seven persons were on their way to Lasan village to oversee preparation for the ADC election to the Lamlaba DCC seat, which was rescheduled for june 16 when the armed cadres waylaid and confined them in the jungle.

Expressing suspicion that the presiding officer concerned might have colluded with the KRA activists at the behest of an independent candidate, Adam substantiated his contention with the assertion that votes were already found cast even before the polling hours began.

Stating that genuine voters were denied right to exercise franchise, he further maintained that such undemocratic act is not a new phenomenon for similar incidents had taken place in the past.

While informing that out of the seven abducted, four persons managed to escape from armed captors on June, the complainant said whereabouts of the three others remain unknown till date.

Appealing to the KRA organisation, which is a SoO signatory, and the candidate concerned who plotted the abduction, Adam cautioned that in case any untoward incident takes place the matter would be viewed very seriously.

He also claimed that two other workers of his were harassed by armed cadres while on their way to Pallong village on June 16 .
