Imphal, May 12 2010: Taking serious note of the restive situation prevailing in the State consequent upon NSCN (IM) General Secretary Thuingaleng Muivah's proposed visit to Manipur, the ACOAM-Lup has appealed to all sections of people to desist from abetting the situation.

Speaking to media persons at their office today, ACOAM-Lup president Chandramani Khumancha remarked that the decision of the State Government and the people of Manipur to bar entry of Muivah into Manipur was a right step.

The clearance given by the Government of India to a leader of a proscribed organisation to visit Manipur is highly condemnable.

Observing that there is no communal conflict presently, he appealed to the people not to allow eruption of any communal tension in future too.

Saying that there is a definite information that some Naga civil societies have been asking the tribal people residing in the valley to leave their homesteads and come to hills, Chandramani appealed to Naga civil societies to stop this campaign.

He also appealed to the tribal people residing in the valley to remain calm as usual.
