Imphal, December 11 2008: STATE CHIEF Minister O Ibobi who arrived at Imphal today from New Delhi has convened a high level security meeting with the top of brass of the Central security forces which official of state home department and state police also attended.

The internal agenda of the meeting and outcome of the meeting which the chief minister called immediately on his arrival in the state capital could not officially available but highly reliable source said the meeting discussed on security measures that would like to take up by the Central government which he was asked to take up during his meeting with the Union home minister, P Chidambaram.

O Ibobi who met with the home minister yesterday has reportedly expressed state supported to the idea of setting up four regional hubs of the elite National Security Guard (NSG) in important cities of the country which the Centre proposed provided the Centre keeps the state in loop before taking any final decision.

Mention may be made that days after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh announced setting up four regional hubs of National Security Guard (NSG) for quicker commando action, chief ministers of two Congress-ruled states - Assam and Andhra Pradesh - on Wednesday pitched for such centres in Guwahati and Hyderabad respectively amid reports that the government has been looking at different options in the east and south for the purpose.

State chief secretary, Rakesh, principal home secretary, DS Poonia and top brasses of the Central security forces like the Assam Rifles, Army and other security establishment took part in the meeting.

Among other the meeting also discussed on the post blast investigation measures which the Union ministry of the home affairs had instructed the states including Manipur for taking up immediately.

MHA had intimated the state through chief secretary to appoint a nodal officer of the rank of at least a deputy superintendent of police to assist and coordinate with the teams deputed for the post blast investigation (PBI) .

The intimation while giving detail guidelines to be done at the time of recovery of unexploded IEDs said "Any unexploded/suspected IED should be handled only by designated local bomb disposal terms.

The IED should be photographed at the recovered site from a safe distance before disposal.

The minimum explosive samples should be given to the investigation teams for laboratory analysis and no other components should be taken by investigating teams.

The meeting also reviewed public issues that currently rise up by various civil organizations like, the Sharmila Kanba Lup and its supporters that are likely to escalate and become a law and order problem.

Mention may be made that the Sharmila Kanba Lup has started its indefinite relay hunger strike from yesterday in a batch-wise manner.

The meeting also discussed on the security measures that have started taken up prior to chief minister's visit in some places in Senapati district tomorrow.

Chief Minister will fly with chopper there after he attended the state level Nupi Lal function.

Tighten security measures have been taken up for the visit of the chief minister to the site, sources said.
