Imphal, December 30 2008: THE OUTLAWED Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) today offered its revolutionary salute to Lt Bimol @ Sorokhaibam Noren who was allegedly tortured mercilessly before being killed at Gopibung on December 28 .

A press release issued by Gm Changjou, Chief of Communication and Publicity Department, RPF stated that Bimol was arrested by a group of AR posted at Tengnoupal on December 28 .

When he was arrested, he did not carry arms, documents etc, stated the press release and added that the way the Indian security forces tortured and killed a person after arrest showed that they do not respect the international laws.

Every sensible human beings ought to condemn such act, it stated.

Bimol was born in March, 1969 at Wangoo Sabal Mamang Leikai.

His father is Sorokhaibam Shohor and mother's name is S (O) Tekpi.

He was the second son of five brothers, Gm Changjou stated.

According to the press release, Bimol was first given the rank of L/Cpl on February 25, 1996 and he was promoted to the rank of Lt on September 25, 2008. The RPF expressed heartfelt sorrow to the family members, relatives and friends.
