Imphal, January 28 2010: A 35 year old man was found dead in a suspicious manner near Sakhi Devi Girls' High School, Uripok in Imphal West district at about 9 last night.

According to a police source, Konjengbam Gopalsana (35) s/o Mangi of Uripok Yambem Leikai was found lying near the eastern wall of the high school last night.

He went out from home about two hours back.

Besides injury marks on the forehead and right cheek, his left ear was also found bleeding.

The corpse has been handed over to family members after post mortem at RIMS today.

In the meantime, one non-local man was found dead near the main old gate of RIMS under Lamphel police station at about 10.30 this morning.

It is reported that two non-local men were often spotted at the area where the man was found dead.

It is suspected that he died last night.

The corpse of the man wearing a grey jacket has been deposited at RIMS mortuary.

He was about 5'2" in height and had oblong face and dark complexion.

A press release issued by the OC of Lamphel PS said that the deceased aged about 25-30 years was mentally retarded.

He was dwelling by the roadside along with another non-local mentally retarded person.

The cause of death is suspected to be severe cold, added the release.
