Imphal, May 27 2009: The Manipur University Students' Union (MUSU) has expressed surprise over the leveling of charge against the former Dean of Manipur University Students' Welfare, Prof Islamuddin after eliminating him while asserting that Prof Islamuddin had no fault.

A MUSU statement today also stressed that what the KYKL termed as 'clique' present in Manipur University should be debated amongst students, teachers and the people.

The MUSU statement stated that the MUSU election that was held recently had been not conducted by the Dean of Students' Welfare but by the election committee of MUSU as was clarified in local dailies.

It further stated that it is unfortunate to cast the elected MUSU members in bad light by leveling charges against them.

In eliminating Prof Islamuddin on charge of unpardonable fault during the election, the KYKL doesn't know what the people will think of about, the MUSU statement stated.

It is not the right path for a group which claims to wage liberation movement to interfere when they failed to position president of MUSU or their puppet in MU, the MUSU statement observed.

It also refuted the charge that a clique is present in MU while adding that the statement of the KYKL is baseless.
