Imphal, May 26 2010: After prevailing upon the agitating womenfolk of Jiribam to lift their counter-blockade on transportion of essential goods to Tamenglong district, Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Y Erabot today held talks with those who are imposing counter-blockade along ImphalUkhrul Road and succeeded in prevailing upon them to suspend the stir for some time as well.

On the other hand, the Minister is all set for a good will visit to Noney tomorrow to meet the people there so as to ensure lifting of the economic blockade along the National Highway 53 .

Speaking at a reception function hosted in his honour by the Goodwill Mission Wangkhei Kendra Development at Khurai Tharoijam Leikai today, Erabot announced that goodwill mission t has been set up to ensure lifting of both economic blockade and counter blockade and promote cordial relationship among various communities.

In continuation of the goodwill visit, the Minister informed that he would be going to Noney tomorrow to meet the people there.

The Minister said that his recent visit to Jiribam to bring back the stranded goods laden trucks was not earned the appreciation of the people.

However, the Government has charged him with revealing its sacred, he added.

Those who spoke at the occasion praised Erabot as the son of the soil and said that Manipur needs more Ministers/MLAs like Erabot.
