Imphal, April 19 2009: A joint meeting of the All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) and Editors of dailies held this evening strongly condemned the gun attack at the residence of the working General Secretary of AMWJU, Biren Yambem at Bashikhong Kongba Irong.

The incident occurred when some unidentified gunmen shot three rounds of bullets towards the residence of Biren Yambem this evening around 7 pm.

The AMWJU and the Editors appealed to the group concerened to explain why the attack was carried out against the General Secretary of AMWJU who has been devoted to working for the welfare of pressmen.
