Imphal, February 18: The identity of the man who was shot dead by a combined force of Imphal East District Police Commandos and personnel of 32 Assam Rifles at Kairang Mayai Leikai under Heingang Police Station last night has been established.

He was one Md Abdul Karim (47) s/o Md Amuba of Kairang Mayai Leikai.

According to his family members, Md Abdul Karim was a innocent person who did any available job for livelihood. At around 7.30 pm yesterday, after having his meal, Md Abdul Karim had gone out to have Pan.

Although the post-mortem of the body has been conducted, it is still lying at the mortuary of RIMS as the family members have refused to take back the body.
