Engineer and another one wounded in blast

Imphal, April 30 2009: TWO PERSONS including an engineer sustained splinter injuries when a bomb hurled at the house of the engineer serving at the Engineering Cell of the Manipur University exploded tonight at around 8 pm.

The explosion took place at the house of the engineer Kharibam Shyamchandra at Thongju part-II under Singjamei police station tonight at around 8 pm.

It was hurled from outside the fencing of the house by the miscreants and felt at the courtyard where the engineer was there.

Shyamchandra sustained injury at the right eyebrow and left arm while another man hailing from the same locality and engaging as labour in the construction of the house of the engineer identified as Longjam Bheigya (38) son of late Shyambabu hurt at the belly and head.

They have been admitted at RIMS hospital.

In the aftermath of the blast, the daughter of the engineer identified as Abecha (28) suddenly felt unconscious.

Regarding the incident, mother of the engineer said they could not guest who had hurled the bomb to the house recalling that some day back also miscreants conducted an attack to the house by firing two rounds of guns.
