Imphal, June 29 2009: In two separate incidents that happened around 9.30 pm tonight, Imphal East district police commando killed an UG suspect in an alleged encounter and some unknown armed persons shot man to death.

The first incident happened at Keirao Bitra under the jurisdiction of Irilbung Police Station in Imphal East district.

The commando team recovered one 9mm pistol along with three live rounds and three empty cartridges and one identity card from the deceased, police said.

The second incident occured near Kiyamgei Pal Ahanbi on Indo-Myanmar road under Singjamei Police Station in Imphal West district.

The person who was believed to have been abducted and brought there then shot him to death had a voter's identity card in one of the pockets.

The I-card mentions the name of Md Islauddin, son of Md Nizamuddin, Lilong Yangbi Leikai.

On a piece of paper found in his pocket was written that the person has been given death sentence for colluding with Army and police commandos and kill or arrest party's cadres.

Hands of the killed person were tied behind his back and his eyes were also blind-folded.

Both the bodies have been picked up and kept at the RIMS morgue for necessary procedures.
