Imphal, November 28: Bodies of two UG suspects who were slain in an encounter with troops of Piyang-based 1 Assam Rifles in Ukhrul district have been brought to RIMS morgue for identification and other related procedures.

The bodies, when brought here, are attired in camouflage uniforms, wore jungle boots and their ears pierced.

The bodies have started emanate smell of decomposition.

It may be mentioned that the banned KYKL on October 30 had attacked a convoy of Assam Rifles in Sorbung area under Phungyar police station during which a Major of the para-military force and two other personnel were slain besides injuring seven.

Four days later troops of the 1 Assam Rifles had claimed to have eliminated two KYKL cadres in between Khumbi and Patbung villages located under the same police station.

With none establishing identities of the slain duo their bodies were handed over to Imphal Municipal Council authorities on November 9 for disposal.
