Imphal, September 25: Unidentified gunmen shot dead a sergeant major of the proscribed PREPAK at Ithai Wapokpi under Kumbi police station in Bishnupur district last night.

The slain sergeant major has been identified as Tayenjam Bobo alias Small (24) s/o Kullayaima of Laphupat Tera.

According to police report, Bobo was found shot dead by unidentified gunmen near Iramdam Lamjing Lamtak Club at Ithai Wapokpi at around 10.30 pm yesterday.

The body was retrieved and brought to the mortuary of RIMS Hospital today morning and Bobo was identified by the family members.

There were two fatal bullet marks, one just below his left eye and the other on his stomach.

Bobo joined the outfit when he was around 12 years of age, said family members and was earlier arrested.
