Imphal, February 05 2010: Two unknown youths tonight opened fire more than 10 rounds at the house of a man who just got married today at Okram Chuthek under Irilbung PS in Imphal East district.

The shooting incident happened at about 8.30 tonight inside the house of the bridegroom, Sapam Basanta, after the bride was brought home and all invitees had left.

The two youths fired at least three rounds on the bed of the father of the bridegroom, and then shot several rounds on the portico.

When family members and neighbours raised a hue and cry, the attackers fired some rounds and left.

However, no one was injured in the attack.

Reports said, Sapam Basanta had earlier married a woman but divorced.

An advertisement was telecast on ISTV yesterday saying that the divorce procedure had not been completed yet.
