Imphal, July 29:
Security personnel recovered four explosive devices from different places of the State today while unidentified persons exploded one at Khurai Chairenthong.
The explosion took place at around 7 am today near Ng Mani College in Imphal East district.
Another improvised explosive device (IED) was also recovered along the inter-village road that connects the institution to the Imphal-Ukhrul road.
Police bomb experts arrived at the site and having retrieved the explosive device safely exploded the same at around 9 am.
The location where the second bomb had been recovered is said to be frequented by security forces.
Personnel of the police bomb squad had a busy day today as shortly after the Salanthong incident a hand-grenade (Indian made) was found fastened with a red colour adhesive tape at the Lamphelpat office door of Director (Health) Dr W Motilal Singh at around 9 am.
Talking to newspersons at the site, Dr Motilal disclosed of receiving a demand letter of huge amount from the KCP (Noyon) group.
The fourth explosive device was recovered from a residential gate located a few metres away from Chingmeirong Khongnang Ani Karak.
A team of Imphal East police commando retrieved the explosive item from near the residence of one Anoubam Rajen.
The bomb was discovered at around 7.30 am.
