Government demands safe release of Heinrich

Imphal, March 29: The representatives of the Development Agency, EED: Evangelischer Entwiclungs Dienst, address: Ul-rich-v-hostel-str 76, 53123 Bonn, Germany were going on field visits to project villages of Ukhrul and Imphal East district in the operational area of Volunteers for village Development (VVD) on March 23.Heinrich Wolfgang was kidnapped by armed gang suspected to be Kuki Liberation Army at Moirangpurel areas and taken to their hideouts with a warning to the agency not to make any complaint to the government, police or security forces, according to a press release issued by Santosh Macheria, special secretary (Home).

The state government condemns the unfortunate incident of kidnapping of a foreign national who was visiting here for a philanthropic purpose.

The incident has tarnished the image of the state and its peace taking people who have recorded history of peaceful coexistence of more than 2000 years.

This has sent a wrong message to the world community and all those who wish to contribute towards the development of the state adds the press release and added that the state govt seeks the help and cooperation of all its law-abiding citizens in its efforts to secure safe release of Mr H Wolfgang from the custody of Kidnappers.

Meanwhile a press release of International Manipuri Mothers' Assn urged to release foreign nation who is now in the custody of KLA.

An emergency meeting of IMMA will be held at its head quarter at Bamon Leikai on April five next members coming from other parts will be given accommodation and arrangements were made for this.

The association appealed to release him immediately so that he could meet his relatives.
