Imphal, February 26: Though MSCPs president Th Chaoba was present at the meeting wherein the Congress led Secular Progressive Front (SPF) was formed with the MSCP, NCP, and CPI as constituent partners, he told The Sangai Express late this evening that his party is yet to formally withdraw from the NDA.

The MSCP is a partner of the NDA Government at the Centre and Chaoba was inducted into the Union Ministry at one time.

Chaoba said that an emergency meeting of the MSCP Central Executive Committee and its elected members will be held tomorrow.

He expressed hope that the meeting will give the nod to withdraw from the NDA.

On the reason why the MSCP has joined SPF, Chaoba said as the peoples verdict is fractured the best option available to the MSCP is to support the party to ensure stability.

Meanwhile PB Acharya, national secretary and NE in-charge presided a function today to felicitate newly elected BJP candidates at the party office.

Acharya expressing gratitude to all the party candidates and praising the people of Manipur for voting for the party legislators said that BJP will strive to form a coalition government with all regional parties based sincerity, mutual respect and under a common minimum programme.
