Imphal, January 23: Even as the winter session of the State Assembly has been convened on February 6, BJP MLA Meinam Bhorot today said that the DPA leaders should seriously consider whether they should attend the session to be presided by a Speaker, whose name has been linked to the murder of Lungnila Elizabeth by the NSCN (IM) on the basis of the confession made by prime accused James Kuki.

Prior to the flagging off of the Atal Sandesh Yatra rally at Palace ground today, the BJP MLA said that it would be morally wrong for the members of the Assembly to attend a session to be presided by TN Haokip whose name has been linked to the murder of the school girl.

Speaking further, Bhorot said that it is highly suspicious why the Chief Minster has not been able to come out with the names of the suspects involved in the killing of Elizabeth, though the CM had earlier announced that the names of the suspects would be made public soon.

Even though the State Govt has decided to hand over the case to the CBI, it would be proper to drop TN Haokip, Works Minister Gaikhangam and TD Minister, stressed Bhorot.
