Lamka, April 20: Unidentified person/s last night shot dead Imphal West Town Commander of the KLA in Khuga Dam area and apparently botched a romantic tale that was due to unfold.

Identified as Seilienthang (26) of Mongbung in Senapati's Saparmeina, the commander was killed at a quarter in Khuga Dam suspected to be the residence of his fiancee � at around 12 last night.

He is said to have been staying at the said residence since a couple of days back.

Chingboi (19), the suspected fiancee said the assailant who broke into her residence and killed their guest � the KLA's town commander, did not utter a word, and so, has no clue who he might be.

"It was dark so I don't know even who he (killer) is or if he was with any companion," she said.

However, she claimed that three youths on a motorcycle � whom the deceased Seilienthang said were his friends, visited them at about 6 pm.

The teenage fiancee told a handful of media representatives that his Imphal based mate was with her to resume his recordings for an album, in one of the local studio here.

The intended album to be produced by him is said to contain his numbers as well as from other renowned singers.

She also claimed that video clips for picturisation of the album had been filmed at the dam site with the two of them playing the main role.

The local police have registered a case on the killing after depositing the body at the district hospital morgue here.

IFC Minister N Biren was still staying at a dam's bungalow when the killing took place.
