Imphal, December 16 2009: The proscribed United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has alleged that RK Thangjingngaakpa alias Boinao s/o RK Sanahal alias Kora of Moirang Kokilbon Leikai was apprehended by a team of 26 Assam Rifles, in civilian clothes, from a house in Keibi area before being slain at Kangchup Patbung on December 10 morning.

Informing that Boinao, a Major Sergeant of the outfit's armed wing MPLF, had been assigned non-combative task at Keibi and Sekta areas owing to deterioration in health conditions, a UNLF statement issued by its Senior Publicity Officer Ksh Yoiheiba contended that security force's contacts conveyed information of his presence consequently leading to the arrest.

Further stating that at the time of Boinao's arrest he had no weapon, Yoiheiba dismissed as concocted AR's claim of recovering arms and ammunition from the victim to pass off the extra-judicial killing as genuine encounter.

UNLF also conveyed of sharing sorrow and grief of the victim's family.

On the otherhand, Yoiheiba rejected claim of the Imphal West ASP that Aheibam Nobin, Keisam Premjit and RK Surjit are UNLF/MPA cadres.

Reacting to the ASP's contention of the trio being pulled up from RIMS morgue yesterday as UNLF/MPA cadres, Yoiheiba termed the report as habitual practice of the police to project arrested innocent civilians as UG activists.
