Imphal, September 16: Censuring the Cabinet decision of the Nagaland Government to allow affiliation of schools located in all Naga inhabited areas to the Nagaland Board of School Education, the United Committee Manipur (UCM) has denounced the decision as a move that may upset the relation between the two neighbouring States.

The decision clearly revealed that the present Nagaland Government is being run a Ministers who do not understand legislation, alleged UCM in a press statement while strongly condemning the Cabinet decision.

The irresponsible decision of the Nagaland Government is a ploy to exterminate the self-proclaimed Nagas settling in hill districts from the face of the earth.

It's a trap of the Union Govt to sow seeds of distrust among different communities of North East India and subsequently to enact ugly incident among the small communities, observed the UCM.

It also reminded of the incident in which a tribal student from Manipur who secured a position in NBSE exam was stripped of his position on the ground that the student was not a Naga of Nagaland.

Last year too, many students who were forced to appear in NBSE exam against their will had to face grave danger to their academic career and their guardians are still worried for their future.

As such, it needs serious introspection on the part of the people of hill districts of Manipur, guardians, school authorities and the civil organisations to understand that the decision of Nagaland Government is nothing but illusion, asserted UCM.

In case the Nagaland Govt, taked up steps detrimental to the integrity of Manipur, the UCM will not remain.

It also asked the State Govt to take a Cabinet decision to prohibit all students passing out from NBSE against pursuing further studies in institutes located in Manipur and against joining services under the Government of Manipur.
