Imphal, June 16 2009: The proscribed KCP (MC) has claimed its hand in the bomb blast near the southern gate of 2nd MR complex in the vicinity of 6th MR canteen this morning.

A press release issued by KCP (MC)'s, secretary military affairs, Lanheiba Meitei disclosed that the bomb was planted by Special Demo Team of the Fifth Lanjaba Unit under command of the outfit's Central Security Council.

Saying that it planned meticulously to avoid any casualty to civilians, the outfit apologised for the casualty caused to civilians.

Asserting that selling or consumption of liquor is not permissible in Manipur, the outfit observed that intoxicants have taken a heavy toll on the youths and the society at large.

Even though there is not a single factory manufacturing liquor in Manipur, Indian made foreign liquors are available in every part of the State.

Security forces have been bringing huge quantities of liquor every day in the name of their own consumption but the same is being sold to the civilians in connivance with some privileged people.

In addition to demoralising the youths of the land, this practice of offering liquor to civilians has become a profitable trade for security officials over the years, it said.

Today's bomb attack in a closely guarded, high security zone was a message to all to ponder over the spendthrift culture of the people and its telling effect on the Nation, the outfit said while adding that all the KFLs who planted and triggered the bomb have safely returned to their units.

It also called upon the people to study the political and social implications of the State Government's policy to set up village force, village volunteers and SPOs against the revolutionary movement.

Clarifying that it was not involved in taking ransom and killing Krishnadas, the outfit asserted that it would own all activities it undertook as much as it would deny acts which the outfit has nothing to do with.

The outfit would never involve itself in any act of killing people by declaring his/her faults in front of media nor in levelling allegations posthumously, it added.
