CBI seeks lie test for James

Imphal, August 07: Stepping up its probe into the kidnapping for ransom and subsequent brutal murder of Baby Lungnila Elizabeth, the CBI is all set to conduct lie-detection test on prime accused James Kuki and another person who was arrested in connection with the case from Imphal recently.

The test would be conducted at Imphal for which the lie-detecting machine, also known as Polygraph, along with a lady doctor is arriving here tomorrow in an Indian Airlines flight, a highly placed source said.

The electronic machine designed to explore people who are telling lies would be installed temporarily at a secure and heavily guarded place, possibly at one of the premises of the State security units, the source disclosed.

Besides James, another suspect agreed to undergo the test and following their consent the Additional CJM Imphal had on different dates passed orders to conduct the test on them, sources added.

The lie-detection test may be conducted on the two, who are currently lodged in Sajiwa Jail for three days beginning August 9, sources said.

The Court will hear the case on August 16.Sleuths of CBI Special Crime Branch arrested James Kuki from Dimapur while the other accused is a resident of Imphal East from near Nagamapal Kangjabi Leirak.

The SP of CBI Special Crime Branch, Kolkata who was also the Investigation Officer (IO) in the brutal murder of Australian cleric and his sons in Orissa and Sanjay Ghosh in Assam is supervising the current case, sources added.
