Imphal, January 07: Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has made it amply clear that his government would not do anything to disturb the proposed visit of leaders of National Socialist Council of Nagaland to the capital tomorrow jn the "national interest" and also to smoothen the process of finding permanent solution to the decades old the vexed Naga problem.

Chief minister while talking to this Correspondent after the formal inauguration function of the 'Asian theatre festival 2003' here at the complex of the Chorus Repertory theatre at Shamusang uku in Imphal west district, appealed to the NSCN (IM) leaders to drop the treacherous idea of disintegrating Manipur.

"I can assure you that if they (NSCN IM) leaders withdraw the demand for inclusion of Manipur territory in their greater Nagaland plan and stop threatening territorial integrity of Manipur, we'll withdraw whatever charges leveled against them" Ibobi said.

"This however is my personal view".

The Chief Minister said, if Muivah, gives up his claims on the territory of Manipur and shows an inclination to enter the political arena, he is willing to sacrifice his chair.

The union government at the centre as well as Nagaland government had lifted the ban imposed on NSCN (IM), they had also withdrawn the arrest warrant against the leaders of the outfit in the last part of November last year.

However the government of Manipur is yet to withdraw the arrest warrants slapped on the leaders of the NSCN(IM).

Praying for a fruitful and amicable solution to the Naga political problem during the comprehensive talk, which is scheduled to be held on January 9 between the leaders of the outfit and representatives of the government at the centre, Ibobi said "we always welcome the peace process for a permanent settlement".

Chief Minister added "if they sincerely come out with open heart without showing the intention of disturbing territorial integrity of Manipur, we can go together with them for ushering peace in this region".

Ibobi who had started his hill trips to know for himself the real grievances faced by the hill people since January 4 by visiting Tungjoy, one of the remotest hill stations located along the Nagaland-Manipur border, called upon the people from all walks of life in the region to restore peace and communal harmony in this new era of science and technology.
