Non-local escapes life attempt bid

Kohima, March 20 2009: After remaining silent for some days, attack on the migrant labour started again with one escaped life attempt bid by suspected militant at a shop at Lamphel Super Market today at around 8.10 am.

Thirty-year old migrant labour hailing from Sonapur of Bihar named Pramod Yadav (30) son of late Ganesh Yadav is currently staying at a rented house at Thangmeiband.

He received a minor bullet injury at the left chest.

The gunman opened fire three times to Yadav who is carpenter and working at the shop located opposite to the RD Wing office, Lamphel.

Two of the bullet missed the target and one bullet slenderly hit at his chest.

Gunmen then left the spot immediately with no direction.

The gunman attacked him from the back side while he was sitting and working with some of his colleagues in the shop, the report added.

He was immediately rushed to the RIMS Hospital but as it was a minor injure, doctors discharged him after giving first aid.
