Imphal, June 09 2009: Accusing the Chief Minister and the DGP of being mainly responsible for all the daily killings in the state, the Committee on the Killing of L Satish (Tomba) of Singjamei Oinam Thingel has expressed anguish that the government has not made clear what investigation is going on though over 20 days had passed since L Satish was killed.

A press release issued by the convener of the Committee, Oinam Nandakishore stated that the government had been repressing public movements against fake encounters by offering ex-gratia.

However, the protest agitation against the killing of Satish is a movement for justice and will not bargain with money.

The state government should understand that human life cannot be exchange for money.

Father of Satish, L Sarat has surrendered the body of his son to the public to prevent further such killings and to bring justice.

The people ought to support the agitation, said that statement.

It is further stated that suspension of the five police personnel involved in the killing of L Satish will neither satisfy the agitating public nor can slow down the agitation.

People want judicial inquiry into the killing.

It is the duty of the government to protect the life and property of the public.

The government cannot bring peace by killing people, Nandakishore asserted.
