Imphal, May 29 2010: A public meeting held yesterday at Punanamei with members of the Naga Parliamentarian Forum (NPF) under the aegis of Mao Hoho has demanded immediate fulfilment of the commitment given by the State Chief Secretary, GOC 57 Mountain Division and the Government of India through Home Secretary GK Pillai and Interlocutor RS Pandey to pull back state forces from Mao and other hill districts of Manipur.

The NPF was represented by ex-MP Mani Charenamei, ex-Ministers Benjamin Banee, LS John and SP Henry and ex-MLA Henry Paote.

While condemning the killing of two students at Mao Gate on May 6, the meeting urged the Government of India to expedite the peace process and bring about an early and amicable solution.

Insisting that Th Muivah must visit his birth place, it decided that the Mao community should give a red-carpet welcome to their leader.

It further resolved that the Mao Hoho would sever all ties with the Government of Manipur in keeping with the decision of the United Naga Council.
