Imphal, May 19: Apunba Lup and the joint action committee constituted in connection with the shooting of Manipur University, Chemistry Department second year student Thokchom Ranjit by IRB personnel have decried the failure of the Government to fulfil their demands.

The demands of the JAC are dismissal of the IRB personnel involved in shooting Ranjit, footing medical bills incurred in treating the injured student and provision of a suitable job to disabled Ranjit.

Speaking to reporters at Manipur Press Club here today, a representative of the JAC informed that there has been no assistance from the Government in treating Ranjit till date.

On the other hand, the Government is still refusing to dismiss the guilty IRB personnel.

Instead of dismissing the guilty IRB personnel, the Government is deceiving the people, asserted the representative.
