Imphal, December 18 2008: PRESIDENT OF Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, Gaikhangam has appealed to the people of Manipur to remain calm and maintain peace and communal harmony. In a message of appeal, Gaikhangam stated that the violent incident that happened following enmity between a group of militants and a civilian near Kwakta in Bishnupur district was really unfortunate.

All right thinking citizens must condemn such incident, he stated. However, past is past.

In future, it is not right to paint communal colour in such incident causing hostility between communities.

Leaders of both communities must control their minds, and all should try to preserve and promote co-existence with love and peace as in the past, Gaikhangam stated in his appeal.
