Imphal, December 07 2008: STATE CHIEF Minister, Okram Ibobi has once again philosophised that killing of man won't bring solution to any kind of problems.

He was speaking at a mammoth function held at Heirok in Thoubal district to commemorate the 14th death anniversary of Moirangthem Ibotombi, once a popular political leader of the state and representative of the people of Heirok in the Manipur Legislative Assembly, under the aegis of Moirangthem Ibotombi Memorial Trust.

Okram Ibobi, who was the chief guest at the function told the huge gathering that all human beings would die one day.

It is not right for the human beings to accuse each other of some or other wrongs and kill.

If one must die, he must die for the sake of the people.

Even though a person might have commited certain offences, his faults should be forgiven.

There are law courts to try and judge the person's offences.

However, in our society, the armed persons kill anyone as they wish without enquiring properly whether a person was guilty or innocent.

This must be stopped, the Chief Minister said.

Recalling the incident in which three innocent personstwo girls and one boy were shot dead during a Thabal Chongba programme at Heirok in last March this year, Chief Minister Ibobi said that the decision of the state government to set up SPOs has not been changed.

Construction of barracks for the SPOs would start very soon, he declared.

Condemning the the Heirok killing, O Ibobi gave his assurance that those involved in the killing would be found.

Regarding the murder of Ibotombi, the Chief Minister said, no one has so far owned up to killing Ibotombi, who was a leader of the state and who did a lot of good works for the people of Heirok as well.

Earlier, the dignitaries led the people in offering flowers to the portrait of the late leader, Moirangthem Ibotombi.

MPCC president Gaikhangam, Lok Sabha MP T Meinya, IPR and PHE Minister TN Haokip, Chairman of Manipur Pollution Control Board MLA E Dwijamani, MLAs Govindas Konthoujam, M Hemanta, T Mangibabu, Morung Makunga, M Thorii, Kh Ratankumar, K Meghachandra, Th Lokeshore, Assembly Speaker Dr S Budhichandra, top civil police and government officials also attended the function.
