Imphal, January 07 2009: The infamous incident of RIMS massacre on January 7, 1995 was remembered today in a sombre note.

Eight people including auto-rickshaw drivers, rickshaw pullers and one MBBS student from Arunachal Pradesh were mowed down by CRPF jawans at RIMS gate on this day in 1995 .

The 13th RIMS Firing Victims Memorial Day was observed at the RIMS Firing Victims Memorial Square at the institute's gate under the aegis of the RIMS Firing Victims Memorial Observation Committee.

The observation was graced by IMC Chairperson Meinam RK Ranisana, RIMS Medical Superintendent Dr Y Mohen, MLA L Nandakumar and managing trustee of RIMS Firing Victims Memorial Trust N Kunja as presidium members.
