One shot dead, two injured in Nagaland

Kohima, July 23: One person was shot dead while two others sustained bullet injuries in separate incidents at Dimapur and Kohima during the last 24 hours.

Officials sources revealed that personnel of Diphupar Police Station recovered a bullet riddled body of a non-local from Sugar Mill area at around 6'O clock today.

The victim identified as one Rajumunda (49) and a resident of 5th Mile, Dimapur had a bullet shot on the forehead with eyes blindfolded and hands tied behind.

At Kohima, sources revealed that two persons, including a Government servant were seriously injured as unidentified miscreants fired upon them in front of their house last night at around 9:30 pm near Niathu Garden, along Secretariat road.

The two have been identified as Er J G Lorin, serving as District information Officer at Deputy Commissioner's Office, Kohima and his nephew Tenyelo Kemp (Abraham), a Class XI student of GHSS.

Loring was shot on the right shoulder while Abraham was hit on the left leg, police said.

Both of them are undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

Police recovered 17 empty cases of AK47 and two empty cases of 7.62 mm pistol from within the vicinity.

Three empty cases were recovered outside the victim's house while others were recovered near Working Women's Hostel.
