Moreh, May 22 2010: Highlighting that people of different ethnic groups settled in Manipur had been living peacefully for ages, the United naga peoples' Council (UNPC) said whether or not NSCN (IM) general secretary Th Muivah enters manipur enroute to Ukhrul the relationship should be sustained.

A UNPC statement issued here by its Information and Publicity secretary R Warrant observed that having been entrapped by the Centre's sinister ploy for years, the NSCN leader has seemingly failed to look beyond his personal agenda and interest.

pointing out that persistence of Th Muivah to enter manipur causing anxiety and tension among the masses, UNPC also prevailed upon all concerned that people of both the hill and valley areas are enduring severe hardships due to ongoing economic blockade and ban on passage of vehicles of Manipur.

Maintaining that causing hardships to the citizens is against the spirit and principle of revolutionary movement, Warrant suggested that Th Muivah review his steadfast decision to visit manipur as such an adventurous concept would certainly aggravate the situation.
