Imphal, August 20: Two suspected underground activists were killed by a combined force of Imphal West Police Commandos and Ist Manipur Rifles during a shoot out which took place in front of the Telephone Exchange office at Khuman Lampak under Imphal West Police Station at around 7.10 pm today.

According to police report, one 9 mm pistol, one magazine, one live round of ammunition, one Chinese-made hand grenade and a driving license have been recovered from the possession of the two slain UG suspects.

The driving license was issued in the name of Sh Naobi Sharma s/o Ibochou of Yourbung.

Police said the combined force was on a frisking operation of the passers-by at Minuthong when the two UG suspects were seen coming on foot.

When the combined force tried to stop them for frisking, the UG suspects opened fire and fled toward Khuman Lampak side.

The combined force chased them and shot dead in front of the telephone exchange office at Khuman Lampak.
