Imphal, May 07: A 27-year old man was shot at by unidentified gunmen at Namdulung under Imphal West Police Station at around 1.15 pm today.

The injured man who has been hospitalised at Raj Poly Clinic is identified as Mathew s/o Daniel of Marylane but staying at RDO, Lamphel.

A bullet that was shot from just below his navel exited through his waist.

He is currently undergoing treating at Raj Polyclinic at North AOC.

His condition is said to be critical.In connection with the incident, Mamila, young sister of Mathew, she had gone along with her brother to Chingmeirong Khongnang Ani Karak to buy some books.

As they were walking down, two unidentified gunmen who were already there waylaid them and later took away Methew along with them on the pretext of having some talks.
