Imphal, November 02 2008: THE SUSPECTED KCP(MC) cadre killed by the combined force of Imphal west police commandos and troops of 16 Assam Rifles last night at Khonlou villager along the NH-53 turned out to be a former KCP cadre surrendered some ten years back and leading a life of hardship depriving from all facilities which is supposed to get from the state's surrendered policy.

Regarding the killing incident, family of the slain man has lodged a complaint to the Heingang police station which a copy each also forwarded to the state DGP and SP, Imphal east stating that he was shot dead after picked up from the crossing road at 7th MR battalion headquarter, Khabeisoi.

Thounaojam Iboyaima alias Suresh, 42, son of late Manglemba of Uripok Bachaspati Leikai currently residing at the family quarter of the 7th MR battalion headquarter was killed by a combined force of Imphal west police commandos and troops of 16 Assam Rifles near Khonlou village at Kolien along the NH-53 under Sepermaina police station last evening at around 5.20 pm.

Police while stating that he was killed in an encounter in the area with the combined force has said that he was suspected to be a hardcore cadre of the KCP(MC) claiming that a 9 mm pistol loaded with four live ammunitions was recovered from his possession.

According to the family, he was among the militants surrendered before the then state chief minister, W Nipamacha in 1999 with a .38 revolver.

Since then he has been running from pillar to post for availing some benefits like a government job in the state security forces establishments which offered to the surrendered militants.

He even applied for the post of a follower in the department.

"My husband (Iboyaima) was a member of KCP before he surrendered before the chief minister of Manipur about 10 years back from today.

After that he was allowed to stay at the family quarter of 7th MR Bn headquarters, Khabeisoi," of the slain Iboyaima, Ibemcha Devi said in her complaint lodged to the Heingang police station today.

Family member including Ibemcha herself who feel suspicious on getting news of killing a person in an encounter with a combined force paid a visit at RIMS morgue and confirmed that the slain man was her husband.

The family went there as her husband has been missing after he was abducted by some unknown persons at around 1 pm yesterday, the complaint note said.

She also requested the concern police station to register a case against the commandant and personnel of the 16 AR posting at Noneh along the NH-53 and officer-in charge and personnel of the Imphal west police commandos unit for killing of her husband after picked up.

It also urged to take up necessary action against the murderers.Meanwhile, in an interaction with the family member, they said that during his life time, he used to work as labourer the construction of quarters and other structures in the state security establishments for money to run his family.

He even engaged in the works of harvesting at the fields of the officers of the security set ups where he get life security as his was leading a risky life after surrendered to the government.

He is well known to the police commando personnel and killed "intentionally", the family alleged.

Meanwhile, regarding the killing of the Iboyaima, an agitation demanding appropriate action against the security and police personnel is likely come up as locals has started discussion on their future line of agitation that can be launch against the murder of a man after picked up.
