Imphal, August 30: The two persons who were reportedly shot dead by security forces in the follow up action of the firing attack by unidentified gunmen on a passenger bus at Okshu under Lamlai Police Station at around 10 am yesterday have been identified today.

They were Thounaojam Shyambabu alias Tompok (30) s/o Thounaojam Iboyaima of Itham but staying at Napetpalli Awang Leikai and Sagolsem Romesh alias Romi (32) s/o late Sagolsem Pishak of Itham Makha Leikai.

The family members of the two slain persons, however, claimed that both of them were innocent.

The family members said that Shyambabu was a truck driver and Romesh was a daily wage earner.

Both the bodies have been handed over to their respective family members after post-mortem examination at RIMS today.
