Imphal, January 25: Reacting to the statement of Moirangthem Star who was penalised by KYKL for drug abuse yesterday, CPI candidate of Khurai constituency L Sotinkumar clarified that Shabi of Kongpal Chingangbam Leikai was not his political worker.

Star had asserted that Shabi who was also reportedly a drug addict, was a worker of Sotinkumar.

Speaking to reporters today, Sotinkumar said many people with evil intentions might have come to his house among his well-wishers as he is contesting the ensuing elections.

Even then Shabi was not among the 6800 members of CPI Khurai Local Council and its fronts.

Quoting media reports, he recalled that Star was pulled up from the home of MPP candidate Dr N Bijoy.

He also decried the alleged attempts of his political rivals to tarnish his image.
