Imphal, November 23: Security personnel deployed on ROP duty ahead of the Chief Minister�s visit to Chandel detected a bomb at Langthabal Meitei Lamkhai along NH 39 at about 10.17 am today.

The crude local made bomb contained four dry battery cells.

The bomb was retrieved by explosive experts of Manipur Police and set off safely.

The Chief Minister went past the spot on his visit to Chandel at about 10.20 am.

Meanwhile, a mine bomb suspected to have been left behind by UG cadres at Tentha Khunou Makha Leikai Chingjin under Thoubal police station was set off safely by explosive experts of Manipur Police at about 3 pm today.
