Imphal, August 23: The identity of the UG shot dead during an encounter by a combined force of Imphal West Police Commandos and personnel of 12 Maratha Light Infantry at Meitram under Nambol Police Station on the night of August 22 has been established today.

The slain UG was one Toijam Rocky alias Thengnaba (25) s/o Toijam Birmangol of Thengra Leirak, Churachandpur.

According to report, Rocky left home and joined UNLF some five/six years back.

His body has been handed over to the family members after post-mortem examination at RIMS today.

Meanwhile, police have picked up the body of a suspected drug addict which was found lying inside the toilet at ground floor of Hotel Tampha, North AOC at around 7 am today.

The body has been kept at the mortuary of RIMS hospital.

According to a statement issued by OC of Imphal Police Station, the deceased who seems to be a tribal is 5.6 feet tall, with round face, medium built, wheatist complexion and hair cut short.

He was clad in a red colour T-shirt, blue jean pant and a pair of Reebok shoes and black socks.
