Imphal, November 21: With the identification of the two UG cadres shot dead by troops of 4 AR yesterday afternoon at Sawombung Wairi road Awang Leikai under Lamlai police station, the corpses have been handed over to respective family members.

The two slain UG cadres are identified as Keisam Naocha alias Leima s/o K Rajendra of Heikak Mapan Awang Leikai and Moirangthem Kanta alias Santa (26) s/o Tombi of Keibi Awang Leikai.

It is reported that both them were married and working as over ground supporters of the PLA.

The corpse of Khangenbam Gopeshwar alias Sinthangamba (36) of Kumbi Lai Santhong shot dead by Bishnupur district police commandos near Nganukon under Moirang police station last morning has also been handed over to family members after post mortem at RIMS today.

It is said that Gopeshwar was a Corporal in the PLA.

On the other hand, the youth shot dead by Imphal West commandos at Waheng Khuman under Wangoi police station last night has been identified as a PLA cadre.

The corpse of slain PLA cadre Nongthonbam Awangba alias Ibomcha (26) s/o Mahajon of Sekmaijin Thongam Leikai has also been handed over to family members after post mortem at RIMS today.

Meanwhile, the SP of Imphal West Clay Khongsai in a statement said that the other youth arrested, W Umakanta alias Kanta of Samurou Awang Leikai was involved in the rape of a woman at Sekmaijin at November 19, 2006.He was arrested on December 17, 2006 and later released on bail on April 1, 2007.He was with the PREPAK then but after his release, he joined the RPF/PLA.
