Imphal, September 10: An agreement has been reached between representatives of the JAC formed in connection with the killing of Thokchom Apik of Heirok Part-II Thokchom Leikai and the Chief Minister today consequently resulting in the withdrawal of agitation programmes besides claiming Apik's corpse.

At the meeting held this morning at the CM's office chamber, O Ibobi Singh reportedly assured suitable jobs to Apik's wife Anita Devi, and the victim's younger brother in addition to payment of ex-gratia before the Shradh ceremony.

Regarding the JAC's demand for punishing commando personnel involved in the killing of Apik, the CM is said to have conveyed that whatever punitive action is to be initiated against those involved would be discussed accordingly.

On account of the assurances the JAC reciprocated with the withdrawal of its agitation programmes and claiming the body from RIMS morgue this afternoon.

It may be noted that Th Apik was gunned down by a team of Imphal West district police commandos on September 6 evening at near Maibam Lotpaching in Bishnupur district.
