Imphal, April 01: Decrying the killing of Longjam Uttamkumar, the JAC formed in protest against the killing staged a Wakat Meepham at Keishamthong Keithel here today.

The protest session demanded punishment of the Commandos responsible for the killing within 72 hours.

Placards with slogans like 'Issue license gun to protect ourselves', 'Human life should not be bargained with ex-gratia', 'Lets save Manipur from becoming a killing field', etc were used by the protestors during the demonstration.

It may be recalled here that Longjam Uttamkumar was shot dead by some security personnel in civvics near his own residential gate at Keishampat Longjam Leirak at around 3.30 pm on March 29.The family members have refused to take back the body demanding punishment of the killers.
