Imphal, June 22 2009:
Seram Ashalata Devi (36) of Tera Sayang Lambi who has been in police custody in connection with the incident of abduction for ransom and subsequent murder of contractor Yengkhom Krishnadas is today remanded to judicial custody for 15 days by a court here.
Chief Judicial Magistrate of Imphal remanded Ashalata to 15 days judicial custody today.
After her arrested by the police, Ashalata was remanded to police custody twice for her alleged involvement in collection of the ransom amount.
At her instances, police have also raided Sajiwa Jail and rearrested Nando of KCP who has been languishing in jail in connection with with another similar case of abduction for ransom and subsequent killing Baby Lungnila Elizabeth.
