Imphal, August 21: Along with formation of a JAC in connection with killing of a youth by a combined force of Imphal West Police Commandos of Ist Manipur Rifles during an alleged encounter at Khuman Lampak last evening, the Imphal-Ukhrul Road was blocked at Yourbung area in protest today.

Family members claimed that the slain youth identified as 15-year old Shrimayum Sharma Naobi s/o Ibochou of Yourabung Khunou was an innocent State player of Wushu.

Earlier was also plying boxing and Taekwondo.

He had gone out from home yesterday morning for his practice.

A public meeting was held at Yourabung today in protest against the killing.

Along with formation of a JAC, infuriated local people blocked the National Highway 150 from 1 pm onward.

Police and BSF personnel dispersed the protestors.

Later during the day, representatives of the JAC met Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh pressing the demand to pull up and punish the Commandos involved in killing of Naobi.

However, no agreement could be brought about during the meeting.
