Imphal, September 27: Two students from Manipur were among those selected to undergo MBBS studies by the Ministry of Home Affairs under the quota meant for the families/victims of terrorist attack.

According to sources from the State Home Department, Nerubama Khundongbam of Thoubal Kiyam Siphai Mamang Leikai who sustained injuries in the bomb attack at Lilong five years back (14/8/2003) and Anand Angom of Sekta Lairou Loukon in Imphal East district whose parents were killed in extremist action on February 3, 2004 were among those selected by the Ministry for pursuing the courses this year.

Out of the three seats reserved for canddiates from the North Eastern region, Manipur has received two seats, the source said, adding that both the selected students have to report at Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi within September 30 for their medical studies.

The names of the two students have been recommended by the State Govt acting on the instructions of the Ministry, the source added.
