Krishnadas killing decried

Imphal, June 13 2009: Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN) condemned the killing of contractor Yengkhom Krishnadas.

The organisation said that slapping of unbearable ransom amount is an intentional attempt to terminate the person.

Maintaining that the incident must not be taken lightly, the organisation observed that it is inhuman to kill somebody after taking a huge amount of Rs 25 lakh.

HERICOUN however urged the JAC to reconsider its stand to call indefinite general strike.

The Union Baptist Church, Kakching and Christian communities of Kakching also condemned the killing of Y Krishnadas.

A press release of the Church said that the Christian community of Kakching will support the State-wide general strike called by JAC formed against the killing.

The release added that Krishnada contribution rendered to the communities of Kakching will be remembered forever.

He was one among thousands who had dream to serve and uplift his community, it added.

Representatives of LOIS (ROL) Kakching also condemned the killing of Krishnadas.

Meanwhile, Shengrong Lairembi, Kakching Sumang Leikai and South Eastern Sporting Union, Kakching condoled the death of Krishnadas with the observance of two-minute silence to mark respect to the departed soul.
